Honoring Our Volunteers
Our B’nai Tzedek volunteer force is one of our most valuable assets. Only through the volunteer efforts of our members, together with our committed staff, is B’nai Tzedek able to provide for the many needs of a synagogue of our size and diversity.
Volunteer Recognition
Each year in the spring, we recognize and honor all those who have provided volunteer service to our synagogue.
Mordechai & Esther Award
Each year Congregation B’nai Tzedek recognizes those members who have given exceptional volunteer service to the Congregation either during the past year or over a period of years. The names of those who receive this special award are permanently displayed on a plaque in the synagogue lobby.
If you would like to nominate someone for this award, send a message to the synagogue Administrator, describing the nature of the nominee’s service. (Please note that an individual may be given this award only once, so previous awardees are not eligible. Also, this award is given for service outside of employment duties or duties as a member of the Board of Trustees).
Joe and Ida Rotcher Award
This award was named in honor of Joe Rotcher, who held the office of President of Congregation B’nai Tzedek for three separate terms, and his wife Ida. Their commitment to B’nai Tzedek, and their tremendous accomplishments through their work on the Board, set an example for all other Board members to follow.
This honor, awarded only when deemed appropriate, is given to a member of the Board of Trustees for exemplary work as a Board member. The names of those who receive this award are permanently displayed on a plaque in the synagogue lobby.
